HYROX 2025: World’s biggest indoor fitness race heads to Abu Dhabi
Eight 1-kilometre runs and functional exercises define the ultimate fitness challenge
DUBAI: Abu Dhabi is set to host the world’s biggest indoor fitness race, HYROX, on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
As part of the Abu Dhabi Summer Sports (ADSS), this high-energy event will challenge fitness enthusiasts of all levels, providing an unforgettable experience for both participants and spectators.
The event is expected to draw athletes from across the globe to compete in one of the most exciting sports challenges of the year.
HYROX 2025
HYROX 2025 follows a unique, standardised fitness format combining running and functional exercises. Competitors will race through eight 1-kilometre segments, interspersed with tough physical tasks like sled pushes, rowing, wall balls, and burpee broad jumps. The race is timed, creating an atmosphere of competition and camaraderie, where personal bests and team efforts combine for a dynamic, exhilarating experience.
Inclusive divisions
With categories for individuals, pairs, and teams, HYROX Abu Dhabi ensures that there’s something for everyone. Athletes can participate in various divisions, including individual (male and female), doubles (mixed, male or female), and relay teams of four. A pro division caters to experienced athletes, while the adaptive division provides an inclusive platform for athletes with physical disabilities.
The Middle East expansion
HYROX’s expansion into the Middle East marks a significant milestone in its global growth. Organised in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the race is poised to be a major feature in the UAE’s sporting calendar, bringing together a global community for a shared test of endurance and athleticism.
